PRESIDENT'S TROPHY SEMI FINALS

The President’s Trophy Semi-Finals were held at Tavistock Golf Club on 20th September on a bright and sunny day. DevonGolf Immediate Past President Carolyn Maynard was on the first tee with words of encouragement as the teams set off ready for battle.

The first match was between East Devon Golf Club 2 and Wrangaton Golf Club. This was always going to be a challenging match with significant handicap differences between the teams. We saw some quality golf from all the ladies but Wrangaton proved to be the stronger team winning games 1, 3 & 5 to take the match win.

The second match was between East Devon Golf Club 1 and Tiverton Golf Club. This was another closely fought match and although Tiverton won 4 out of 5 games the result does not reflect the great golf played by both teams. 

Finals' Day - Royal North Devon Golf Club, Friday 1st October
Wrangaton Golf Club will now play Tiverton Golf Club in the President’s Trophy Final teeing off at 11am. The final for the Still Cup Trophy between Stover Golf Club and East Devon will tee off at 12.15pm. The Sheelah Creasy final between Teignmouth Golf Club and Wrangaton Golf Club will start the day's proceedings at 10am. The final for the Doris Willes-Little Trophy between Tiverton and Downes Crediton will now be played at Okehampton on a different day as Tiverton have a player in both the Doris Wills-Little final and the President's Trophy.

Carolyn presented semi-finalist trophies to East Devon Team Captains Linda Knapton and Lea Finding. Congratulations to all East Devon women for reaching this stage of the competition.
