Overview
The Devon Golf Men's Team compete in the Channel League throughout the season comprising of Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Gwent and Glamorgan.
The 8 sides are split into two divisions and the four counties in each division play each other home and away across the season for a total of 6 matches. Each match consists of a team of 10 players playing 5 Foursomes games in the morning with 10 Singles in the afternoon. The winner of each League match scores 1 League point, points difference for and against determining positions in the event of a tie. The Divisional Winners will play a Channel League Final at the end of the season.
In addition to the Channel League the men work towards South-West Week held in June each year rotated around the six SW counties (those listed above excepting Gwent and Glamorgan) as hosts. The key event in that week is the 6-man team aggregate 36 hole Strokeplay championship which determines the SW county representative at the England Golf National County Finals. There is also an individual Championship open to all.
During this week the team also compete against all SW counties in matchplay for the SW Couties Shield, each match comprising morning singles and afternoon foursomes matches.
