INTER-CLUB COMPETITIONS' UPDATE 2021

The DevonGolf Competitions Committee has met and reviewed the 2021 season of Inter-Club events, considered submissions received and some issues that have arisen. The outcome of that meeting is as follows: 

Women’s Inter-Club Events

We will return to teams of 7 for the Still Cup, President’s Trophy and Sheelah Creasy Bowl events - all playing singles matches

The Still Cup remains a scratch event and players of any handicap level can participate

For the President’s Trophy the maximum Handicap Index (HI) will be 21.4, but players with a higher H.I. may represent their clubs, provided they adhere to the competition maximum H.I. of 21.4 for the match

The Sheelah Creasy Bowl will operate for players with HI between 21.5 and 40.4

Players may play for more than one of their club's teams, i.e. Still Cup & President's Trophy or President's Trophy & Sheelah Creasy Bowl without restriction, as long as the competition handicap rules are adhered to. If a club has more than one team entered in a competition, players must only play for one designated team

The entry fees for the competitions remain unchanged and entries may now be made. The draw will be finalised by the start of October 2021. Competition rules will be rewritten to reflect these amendments.

Men’s Inter Club Events

The Palairet Memorial Trophy and Parker Trophy events will proceed with no change to the criteria, save that for the Palairet Memorial Trophy the maximum HI of 18.4 remains unchanged. Players with a higher HI may represent their clubs provided they adhere to the competition maximum for the match.

Based on responses to a request for feedback, clubs will be asked to make themselves available for specific rounds of the Palairet Memorial Trophy rather than hold available all-round dates.
