FULL REPORT - SENIOR LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIPS AT STOVER

What a wonderful mid-summer’s day at Stover with a moderate north-westerly breeze.  We were warmly welcomed by Stover’s Ladies Captain, Shelagh Jansen and a great team of willing ball spotters at the ready to help with keeping play going at a steady pace!

We had field of 36 ladies, playing in twos and in handicap order.   The first pairing were sent on their way at 9.30 with the final pair teeing off just over two hours later.  The course was in lovely condition and the first competitors started to reappear back in the club house just over three hours later, ready for a sit down, liquid refreshment and some food.  An excited buzz was soon going round when Vicky Holloway came in to say she had had a hole-in-one on the 13thwhich smartened her card up!

At 3.15pm prize giving was opened with a very warm welcome by the Stover Ladies Captain and our County President, Carolyn Maynard, handed out the prizes.

Hole-In-One:
Vicky Holloway (Torquay) scored a Hole in One on the 13th hole. Vicky  was presented with a magnum of champagne from Stover Golf Club and a bottle of Presecco from DevonGolf - and a large bar tab as she treated all the other competitors and helpers on the day to a drink.
