Mixed fortunes for our U14s & 16s at home to Dorset.

At Downes Crediton the County U14s faced Dorset for a bit of a showdown for the Jack Roberts league with the winner of this fixture would then be hot favourites to take the title.

Pre-season favourites Dorset took the morning foursomes 3 1/2 to 1/2 with Devon's David Baldwin & Joe Newcombe gaining a half, and the other matches were all close but with no success.

Afternoon singles started well with Max Parsons & Jack Dart collecting wins in matches 2&3, and in match 4 David Baldwin gaining the half, but unfortunately this was all Devon were going to get from a much fancied Dorset side and finished in a 9-3 defeat.

The U16s (Ben Enoch League) on the other hand was the complete reverse...fielding a full strength side, Devon U16s were far to strong for Dorset, cruising to a 4-0 foursomes victory in the morning, and adding another 5 1/2 points out of 8 from the singles with wins from Craig Passmore, Matt Millar, Lewis Beer, Luke Tooley, & Chris Greenberry, and a half from Keir Begley all adding up to a 9 1/2 - 2 1/2 comfortable win.
