Cornwall were ready for everything that the St. Enodoc course could throw at them on the Tuesday and they became the well-deserved South West strokeplay qualifiers for the English Team Championship to be held at Sandwell Park GC at end of September.

Gloucestershire, as powerful as ever, took the Matchplay Shield with Cornwall lying 2nd.

A crumb of comfort - Devon did manage to avoid the 'wooden spoon' by the smallest of margins in the game points total.
