TOP THATCHER & TOP TREASURER cruise to Butcombe victory!

Richard Pascoe (our Top Devon Thatcher) and Peter Cliff (Top County Treasurer) scored, as a betterball pair, a phenominal 47 points at Tavistock on 25 May.  The scored was witnessed by the County Sec. as being a true account of events. 

Anyway, enough of the light-heartedness, thanks to the Butcombe Brewery Sponsorship, teams from 24 Devon clubs enjoyed the sunshine, on-course refreshments and buffet meal provided after golf.  The weather was great and the course in very good condition as commented by all. Thanks To the Host Club.

Addendum. It should be noted that the longest drive (15th par 5 hole) was won by Colin Nolan (Stover) by achieving a monster drive, well over 300 yards. Apparently he then pulled his 2nd shot (a pitching wedge) into the left greenside bunker and holed out from there for a 3!!.  Brilliant Colin, just brilliant.
