Confident Devon win in Wessex League

Details

This was a great start to the Season for a young Devon team. The course at Torquay was in very good condition with fast greens and some tricky pin positions. In the morning foursomes we managed to move out ahead with a 3 to 1 lead. In the afternoon Somerset were trying to close that Gap but with 3 of the team playing at their home club , Devon were soon in some commanding positions.

The singles matches ended with Devon victorious at 5 1/2 to Somerset 2 1/2. The match finished Devon 8 1/2 to Somerset 3 1/2.

Thanks to Peter Cliff for doing the starting and supporting the team.  Also thanks to Torquay GC members for allowing us to play our match and to the indoor & outdoor staff on in preparation and on the day.

Somerset advised us that due to ingringement of Rule 14-3 relting to DMD used by one of their team, the match result has been adjusted to 10:2 in Devon's favour.
