Boy’s Under 18s and Under 16s
In a change beginning post the 2025 season DevonGolf has combined the U18s and U16s into a single squad with Team Managers responsible for each age group.
The U18s contest the season-long Roy Greenaway League sees matches against Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset. The games mirror the Men’s matches, teams of 10 playing morning foursomes and afternoon singles. The U16s contest the Ben Enoch Trophy League, again playing 18-hole matches consisting of morning foursomes and afternoon singles but based around teams of 8
There is a season-opening 4 Counties event, played between these same four counties’ Under 18 squads at venues rotated around them all. After a first morning individual medal competition there are three 18-hole matches in a round-robin format, each match a combination of singles and foursomes
In addition to the Leagues and 4 Counties the Under 18s work towards the South-West Championship held in June each year rotated around the six SW counties (Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Dorset) as hosts. It is a team aggregate 36-hole Strokeplay championship which determines the SW county representative at the England Golf National County Finals. There is also an individual Championship open to all.
There is also an U16s/14s South-West Championship again rotated around the six SW Counties, an 18-hole Medal event with Team and Individual elements played in the May Half Term week annually
Additionally the Boys play friendly matches against Devon Captains and against the DMVGA each summer.
