After a hearty lunch of pasty, beans and chips Woodbury and Teignmouth were ready to do battle. There were no changes to either team so game 1 saw Woodbury with the honour and Jessamine/Thorpe played Mason/Tottle. This was the first game of all 3 finals' games that went to the 18th green and Teignmouth took the first win 1-up.
Next out was Northover/Baldwin playing Teignmouth's Jones/Hunt. Again, it was a tightly fought game and Woodbury Park evened the match score on the 18th winning 2-up. Everything hung on the final game.
Woodbury's Veale/Clemo played Plunkett/Wilson and it was close all through to the 16th which Woodbury finished 1-up. The 17th green was where the nerves showed through for both teams and Woodbury Park missed 2 putts before holing out which meant a trip down the 18th, still 1-up, instead of victory. Teignmouth's Plunkett teed off with a shot to the left of the green and it was Woodbury's turn. They flew the ball to the green, left of the hole, pin high, a great shot under pressure. Pressure was back on the Teignmouth team and Wilson had a tricky chip downhill which skimmed the hole but kept on going. Their putt back was good and it was Woodbury's turn. Showing none of the nerves from the previous putts the ball went straight into the hole for an excellent birdie and the game and match were won. Woodbury Park lifted the Parker Trophy for the first time. Congratulations!
