Sidmouth Golf Club hosted the County Card individual Stableford competition. DevonGolf appreciated the support from Joey in the kitchen, Dave in the Pro Shop and Brian in the office. Everything was superbly organised but the very warm welcome from the Sidmouth members was fantastic.
With handicaps ranging from 1-54, even though the cap was 28/36, the competition proved to be just what these County Card competitions were set up for - everyone! Congratulations to Paul Dean and Lyndys Geen from Tiverton. By their own admission they are late starters in the game and have never played anywhere other than Tiverton, yet they took the handicap cut and joined us at Sidmouth.
The winning score was set early on from Sidmouth player Andy Griffiths (17) who came in with 41 points to take the first prize of £75. With prizes down to 8th place there was still everything to play for but the nearest score to Andy was another home player Paul Godwin (17) with 38 points. Home advantage seemed to help but other winners in the prizes were from Downes Crediton, Woodbury Park and Torquay. For all results click here
