WARREN CROCUS GREENSOMES 2023
The weather started out quite wonderfully for the Warren Crocus Greensomes at the Warren Golf Club which was great news in a week later disrupted by the first major storm of the autumn. The contestants took advantage of a golf course in excellent condition to return some very strong scores.

Division 1 Winners & Hole in One on 13th
The first part of the start sheet was given over to Division 1. The best score of the day came from Thurlestone's Jan Brooking and Heather Spencer with 41 points. Their points were helped in no small part by Jan holing her tee shot on the par 3,13th for a hole in one.
Not far behind with 39 points were the Warren pairing of Sue Broderick and Barbara Savill, with East Devon's Eiledh Cameron and Mo Reynolds scoring 38 points for third place. The other prizes went to Mandy Furniss and Penny Lyne from Sidmouth with 37 points, followed by the Boringdon Park duo of the two Julie's - Bacon and Pinch.

Division 2 Winners
The latter part of the start sheet saw the Division 2 women taking to the course and for a long time the Saunton pairing of Nicola Davies and Ann Symonds held the lead. Only in the latter part of the day did the home club duo of Sarah Thomas and Jean Dyer come in with 41 points to win the salver. Charlotte Gough and Surya Patterson from Teignmouth were the runners-up with 38 points, demoting the patient north Devonians to third place with 34 points.
Slotting in behind the Saunton pair for the other prizes were Tiverton's Selena Hill and a very new player with a great swing in the person of Jing Li, beating Karen Ann Cole and Lesley Singleton of Dainton Park on countback.

There was just a single two in each division. Churston's Lynn Borg and Bev Turton scooped the golf balls in Division 1, whilst Jane Barter and Jenny Pennell from Bovey Tracey did the same in Division 2.
