COUNTY CARD STABLEFORD AT STADDON HEIGHTS GOLF CLUB
Thank you to Staddon Heights Golf Club for hosting the DevonGolf County Card Stableford, arranging the sunny weather (although a bit less wind might have helped) and making the event a great day. All the stops were pulled out by the Greens Staff (who, the word is, favoured pin positions that were challenging!), Club Manager Nick Tedesco, Club Pro Nick Cook and the amazing catering staff for their hard work. Walking into the clubhouse to be faced with the amazing view is always a joy.
Well there was good news and bad news for today's County Card Stableford winner Derek Owens (Warren). Derek was second out and shot 35 points to push first out Craig Hodge (Elfordleigh) into second place with 33 points. The bad news for Derek was he scored a 2 on the par 4, 16th but hadn't entered the 2s competition. Jonathan Cornish (Downes Crediton) scored an early 31 points but finished in 9th position as a few 33 and 32 points drifted in. Overall, scores in the high 20s seemed to be the order of the day with the pin positions and strong wind making it a tough track. Christine Gibbons (Boringdon Park) scored 34 points midway through the pack, holding onto second place almost to the end when Kevin Makrodt (Dartmouth) also scored 34 points to pip her on countback.

As the only 2 scored was that by Derek Owen a draw was made from those who had entered the 2s competition. Winners were Robin Sutton (Teignmouth), Jonathan Cornish (Downes Crediton) and Simon Fisher (Bovey Tracey). Each wins 6 TaylorMade TP5 balls which will be delivered to their club.
Prize vouchers for the winners will be sent to their Club Pro so winners check your club account in a few days.
