SENIORS' TEAM PICKED FOR CHANNEL LEAGUE v SOMERSET

DevonGolf Seniors' Team Manager Tim Aggett has picked his first side of the new Seniors' Channel League season, to play Somerset at Teignmouth on Tuesday 3rd May.

The selection is:

Peter Bicknell (Torquay)
Nick Draper (Teignmouth)
Dave Eva (Thurlestone)
Mark Evans (Royal North Devon)
Tim Jones (Warren)
Rick Osborne (Churston)
Mark Taylor (Tavistock)

9 of the side featured for Devon last season, the exception being Tim Jones who makes his Devon debut in this match having last year played for Somerset against Devon at the Warren. However, he’s now well ensconced working at Exminster Golf Club and playing at the Warren and gets a chance to show what he can do against his former colleagues.

The match will also see the return of the long-term injured Pete Bicknell, who has recovered from a serious wrist injury sustained in the Order of Merit Final at Bovey Castle last season and is raring to get back to competitive play.

Manager Aggett observed, “We’ve had some significant successes against Somerset over the last few years, but whilst the overall score lines have looked good the individual matches have been really close. We’ll all need to be on our mettle for this one.”
