TIVERTON GOLF CLUB PUT ENGLAND GOLF COVID19 GRANT TO GOOD USE

Tiverton Golf Club now have a Halfway House which will provide snack vending machines, an area where on busy days hot and cold food can be served and an on-course toilet.

The money donated by the England Golf COVID-19 Support Fund has been multiplied 4 or 5 times over with donations from house builders, builders' merchants and building equipment suppliers, donations of time from their Greenkeepers and club members with the necessary skills - architects, plumbers, electricians and general all-round help. It's been real team work from Tiverton Golf Club members who are incredibly proud of what they have achieved.

The area for the building was originally scrub land with no water, electricity or proper access. One of the drivers was to ensure that there was provision of a toilet with disabled access which can now be reached by a path from anywhere on the golf course.

From Humble Beginnings A Great Success

Work is not quite complete as they await the door for the disabled toilet before plumbing in the facilities. The vending machines will arrive later this month and the hot food station has already been christened. Tiverton members plan an official opening after 21st June, when COVID restrictions allow, to thank all those who helped.
