DEVON DO WELL AGAINST CORNWALL - SW COUNTIES- WEEK - DAY 1

Cornwall v Devon in Men's South West Counties' Week at Burnham & Berrow Golf Club saw Singles wins for Lewis Beer (Exeter) 2-1, Peter Lawrence (Woodbury Park) 1 hole and Benjamin Sclater (Warren) 2-1. It was a narrow 1 hole loss for Sam Dunn (Warren), Craig Passmore (Torquay) lost 2-1 and Jack Pope (Exeter) lost by 2 holes. Halves from Matt Millar (Dainton Park) and Eliot Baker (Tiverton) saw Devon going into the afternoon level 4-4 with Cornwall and all to play for.

The afternoon saw a great win from Dunn & Pope 6-5. Passmore & Matt Millar (Dainton Park) won 4-3 as did the pairing of Fred Bishop (Exeter) and Baker. An afternoon score of 3½ to ½ equating to 5.25 to 0.75 foursomes points.

The final match result saw a victory to Devon 9.25 to  Cornwall's 4.75.
