AN ALBATROSS ON A PAR 5 FOR U18 SQUAD MEMBER DAVID

Congratulations to DevonGolf U18 Squad Member David Baldwin (Tiverton) on his albatross on the par 5 first at Tiverton Golf Club. Currently playing off 0.4, David drove 304 yards off the first tee, a 500 yard par 5. Keeping it straight is often a golfer's first thought as they stand on the raised tee as they take in the line of trees down the left hand side. David managed straight and long and his excellent drive left him a 196 yards second shot - and David holed it!

This kind of form will surely help David when it comes to team selection as the DevonGolf boys are defending their England Golf Boys' County Championship title from 2019, with Covid making them unable to defend it last year. David was part of the 2019 winning team and will be looking to be picked again. However, champions or not, the DevonGolf squad still have to qualify for the finals on 8th July at Salisbury Golf Club. The national final is 24th-26th August at Coxmoor Golf Club in Nottingham.
