DEVON GOLF

COUNTY COMPETITONS POSTPONED UNTIL 27TH JULY

Message from the DevonGolf Board - 03/04/2020

DevonGolf regret to announce that due to the escalation of the current health crisis, all county activity which includes training, league matches, friendlies, and golf education courses with be postponed with immediate effect (17th March) until 27th July 2020 in line with England Golf. This will unfortunately include the cancellation of the 2020 Order of Merit events across all sections of DevonGolf. Please note these listed events are club run and you may still be able to enter as per government guidelines, although to reiterate no order of merit points will be allocated.

The decision has been taken following government advice in the interests of players, coaches, referees, volunteers, supporters and the wider golfing community. We highly recommend that you continue to follow government guidelines about safe distance and safe playing environments.

DevonGolf will continue to review and monitor government advice and will provide detailed updates on the impact to the season as the current COVID-19 situation unfolds, whilst providing updates on the events postponed at this time.

It is our aim to reschedule some events and fixtures where possible from the ones currently listed on the county diary as postponed. However, this may not be achievable in all cases and some events will be cancelled for the 2020 golfing season with further information posted on the DevonGolf website www.devongolf.org.uk.

Please rest assured that everyone’s health and safety has and will remain our priority when making these tough decisions, with the well-being of our members always at the forefront of our minds.

Kind regards,

Paul Cloke
Golf Operations Manager
