DEVON BOYS TAKE THE LEAD ON DAY 2

Day 2 at North Foreland Golf Club saw DevonGolf Boys play Northamptonshire and Lancashire v Kent. After Day 1 Lancashire were in the lead, just ahead of Devon on games won, although both had 2 points on the leaderboard.

This is what winners on Day 2 look like!
Jay Scott, Craig Passmore, David Baldwin, Jack Jeffery
Matt Millar, Fred Bishop, James Reed

The morning's Foursomes pairing were James Reed (Exeter) & Fred Bishop (Exeter), Craig Passmore (Torquay) and David Baldwin (Tiverton) and the final pairing was Matt Millar (Dainton Park) and Jay Scott (Tiverton). After 12 holes Reed & Bishop were 3 down, by hole 15 their opponents Corey Neville and Joe Quinn were 5 under par - it was great play from the opposition and Devon lost 5-3. Passmore & Baldwin left the 12th green all square and sealed the deal 3-1 for a point. Millar & Scott were also all square after 12 holes and they, too, won their match with a 2-1 scoreline.

It was a good mornings Foursomes for Devon with a great comeback from matches 2 & 3 for us to a have a 2-1 lead at lunch against Northampton.

The afternoon saw David Baldwin v Harry Oddy and David lost 4-3. Next up was Matt Millar v Luis Witherall and the match was halved. Jack Jeffery played Corey Neville and also battled through for a half. Craig Passmore played Joe Quinn and narrowly lost 2-1 whilst Fred Bishop played Josh Pritchett and brought home a convincing 5-4 win. The final match between James Reed and Max Hayward saw James win with a thumping score of 6-5.

Day 3 is the big one and Devon will play Lancashire in a winner takes all final. If the match is halved, Devon will still take the trophy.

Every DevonGolf golfer is rooting for the boys and we wish them luck!
