Grahame had been involved with junior golf in Devon for the last 11 years.and was still an active volunteer as the current U18's Junior Boys' Team Manager. Grahame was a late starter to the game, beginning at Great Torrington Golf Club some 28 years ago, He was honoured to be Great Torrington's Club Captain in 2008, a legendary year in which Great Torrington won the Palairet Trophy. After such an exciting year, Grahame found he missed the buzz and answered an advert to become the U18's Team Manager. The late Peter Brown clearly had an eye for the good guy as the Devon juniors made it to the England Golf County finals for 3 consecutive years under Grahame's watch - a great achievement. In his spare time, Grahame had also caddied for the men's first team for over 20 years, a man who genuinely just loved the game.
Grahame was due to be at Mendip Spring GC this week leading the U18's Junior Boys team once again in the South West Counties' Team Championship. In a fitting tribute to his leadership he was clearly there in spirit .The team did not disappoint, winning the championship once again and will be playing in the England Golf County Finals, The team claimed victory by a mere 27 shots to our nearest challenger, which is testament to his preparation and commitment.
Grahame - you truly were at the heart of DevonGolf and you are irreplaceable!
