CAITLIN DOES WELL IN USA

Caitlin Evans-Brand, a Yelverton Golf Club member, is currently studying at the Bethune Cookman University, Daytona Beach in Florida.

Caitlin has had a great golfing career in her young life - playing for Wales in the Home Internationals in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Caitlin was the Welsh Girls’ Champion in 2017. DevonGolf have played their part in shaping Caitlin’s golf and, in turn, she has been a terrific team member for the county, playing for the ladies’ first team since 2013 – the year she became DevonGolf Girls’ Champion. 2018 saw Caitlin become the DevonGolf Ladies’ Champion at Royal North Devon Golf Club.

Caitlin has just had the honour of playing for her university in the Kiawah Island Spring Classic in the 3 round, 3 day event hosted by the College of Charleston at Osprey Point Golf Club. Caitlin finished a tied 55th out of 254 players, which will help her world ranking. To find out how well she and her team mates did, click here

Inter-Counties' Match Week, hosted by DevonGolf at Woodbury Park Golf & Country Club from 1st July 2019 - is an exciting golfing week when Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire all play each other in Foursomes and Singles Matchplay to qualify for the England Golf English Women's County Finals. The winners of this prestigious competition in 2018 were Gloucestershire, who only beat Devon in the county round by a whisker. Caitlin was a stalwart member of the Devon team, not losing a match throughout the entire week. We look forward to welcoming her home and back into the Devon team for 2019 and to defend her Ladies' Championship title at Exeter in May.
