Devon were eager to respond to the narrow defeat by Cornwall in the first Channel League game 2 weeks ago, but found a Gloucestershire side in good form. In the morning foursomes, after wins by Ryan Pope & Harrison Greenberry and David Blick & Dan Rosevear Devon then struggled, losing the next two foursomes and it was left to Matt Wells & James Urqhart to seal a half and the game was tied at 2½ points each.

Heavy rain at lunchtime made the afternoon a survival of the fittest and Devon played some great golf. All of the Yelverton players used their knowledge to gain vital points, Rosevear won the opener 3&2 and Blick then weighed in with a 2&1 win, Greenberry went down, but Leon Fricker was 3 under when he secured victory on the 16th, James Smith recently returned from Portugal was enjoying the fine weather and triumphed 2&1, then came Captain Adam Bridgewater fresh from his Order of Merit win at Saunton, the oldest man in the side turned on the style and cruised to a 5&3 win, Matt Wells then continued his fine form and ground out a 4&3 win to seal the victory.

James Urqhart was eager to gain his first singles win in the Channel League and this was to prove his day as he powered his way to 4&3 win, Tom Jessamine in his own words was outplayed by his opponent but his day will come. Devon won the singles 7-3 and an overall match result of 9½ - 5½
