MEN'S ELITE SQUAD SHOWING GOOD FORM

The DevonGolf Men's Elite Squad had 12 players flying the Devon flag on the superb links of Burnham and Berrow Golf Club for their 36 Hole Challenge Salver.

Conditions were great but playing off the black tees always presents a tough 36 hole challenge.

Squad Manager Andy Parker was looking at this event to give another perspective for selection for South West Week from Saturday, 5th – Friday, 11th June 2021 to be held at Burnham & Berrow Golf Club.

DevonGolf’s leading player, finishing 4th, was Lewis Beer (Exeter) with two solid rounds of 70-73. Sam Dunn (Warren) was consistent with rounds of 74-73.
Jack Pope (Exeter) produced a fine 3 under 67 in the first round but struggled in round 2. Andy Parker was pleased to see that all players gave 100% commitment.

This proved to be a great experience for the squad as it was a high quality field with the handicap ballot being +0.09.

The next event for the squad will be the Scratch Open at Minchinhampton Golf Club where Andy will be selecting 10 players.
