DEVON GOLF

JUNIOR SQUADS SHAPING UP NICELY......

DevonGolf's U16 and U14 boys were gathered at Woodbury Park Golf Club for coaching with DevonGolf Head Coach Gary Milne and Torquay Golf Club's Head Coach James Urquhart.

James, with his SAM PuttLab, has been coaching the both groups on their putting over the last year. With putting being approximately 43% of the game, it's obvious that practice in this area is important.

Head Coach Gary Milne said, "The U16 and U14 squads have matured tremendously and their attitude is first class. I'm very hopeful about the future with these up and coming squads." The U16's have Mark Sangster as their Team Manager and the U14's Marc Mulligan. Clearly, their hard work is paying dividends.

The most important focus for the U18 Elite Squad is defending their England Golf Boys' County Championship title from 2019, with Covid making them unable to defend it last year. Obviously, over the long Covid lay off, some of the U18 boys from the winning squad have passed the age barrier. However, champions or not, the DevonGolf squad still have to qualify for the finals. The U18s and U16s are focusing on the qualifying round which is on 8th July at Salisbury Golf Club. The final is 24th-26th August at Coxmoor Golf Club in Nottingham.

Woodbury Park Golf Club is also hosting the DevonGolf Women's First and Second Team for coaching this weekend and DevonGolf is very grateful to Woodbury Park for their ongoing support.
