TIVERTON'S JUNIOR OPEN A GREAT SUCCESS

Sunday, 2nd August saw the Tiverton Junior Open take place on a perfect golfing day. The course was in immaculate order and there were 120 youngsters raring to go in the first Junior Open in Devon since we came out of lockdown. Tiverton Golf Club's Junior Committee did a fantastic job organising the players and parents on the day, always mindful of social distancing and safe golf. There were 120 juniors of all ages and abilities from 30 different golf clubs, not just in Devon but across the whole of the South West, competing for prizes for both boys and girls. There were some absolutely fantastic scores on the day from all sections.

A huge thank you to David Atkinson and his catering and beverage team for keeping both parents and players fed and watered and to the Tiverton members for giving up their course for the our next golfing generation.

We had 12 girls playing in the main competition and 5 girls and 9 boys playing 11 holes on the shortened beginners' course. A great day was had by all even in these very strange times.
