GREENAWAY TROPHY - JUNIOR BOYS v CORNWALL

Staddon Heights Golf Club- 21st August 2019

Our under 18 team took on our old rivals Cornwall at Staddon Heights on 21st August. We went with a team of experienced players and four boys made their debut. 

At lunch after the foursomes the honours were even at 2.5-2.5

In the afternoon the experience of our top order players came through as we secured four and a half points from the first 6 matches. The winning point came from 14 year old debutant Ollie Amos who won his match 3 and 2 and a further point half point came from Jack Parry another debutant making the the final match score 8.5-6.5. A fine win! The result means Devon retain the Roy Greenaway Trophy.

The matches were played in a great spirit!

I would like to say a big thank to Staddon Heights for their hospitality and presenting the golf course beautifully. If I may add the changes that Staddon have implemented to their golf course are very good indeed.

We are now looking forward to the English County Finals next week.
