DAY 4 LADIES' INTER-COUNTIES' MATCH WEEK

DAY 4 AT WOODBURY PARK GOLF CLUB FOR THE SOUTH WEST INTER-COUNTIES MATCH WEEK

Day 4 began with Gloucestershire and Somerset leading the field with 6 points apiece. Cornwall have 4, Devon 2 and Dorset and Wiltshire needing points on the board.

The morning started a little later for DevonGolf who were the last group of matches against Wiltshire for the Foursomes. 

Evie Stone & Lexi Dart v Sarah Gee & Alex Patton - Halved
Emily Morey & Amanda Burchell v Katie Walls & Seona Mauchline - Devon 6-5
Julia Norman & Lauren Pearce v Katie Warren & Olivia Bannon - Halved

After 9 holes Wiltshire had a 3 holes lead over Devon's Evie & Lexi but Emily and Amanda were firing on all cylinders and were 5 up. Julia and Lauren were 3 up after 9 so it was looking good for DevonGolf. After 18 holes the Devon's first match with Evie & Lexi was a draw, followed by a great 6-5 win from Emily & Amanda and our third pairing of Lauren & Julia held out for a draw after Wiltshire put their tee shot on the 18th a foot from the pin and holed the putt. 2 out of the 3 morning's game points went to Devon.

The afternoon singles team welcome back Caitlin Evans-Brand (Yelverton), Charlotte Dommett (Torquay), Julia Norman (Exeter), Grace Jackson (Exeter), Lauren Pearce (Woodbury) and Abby Turner (Okehampton).

Game 2 - Charlotte v Katie Wells - Wiltshire 2-1
Game 3 - Julia v Ashleigh Thorne - Devon 2-1
Game 4 - Grace v Alex Patton - Devon 2-1
Game 5 - Lauren Perce v Olivia Bannon - Devon 5-3
Game 6 - Abby v Katie Warren - Devon 3-2

That meant Devon won the 2 match points available for the day with 5 game points to Wiltshire's 4.
