TOP GOLF COMES TO WOODBURY PARK GC

The Ladies' South West Inter-Counties' Match Week is coming in July to Woodbury Park Golf Club. The DevonGolf ladies' team will play teams from Cornwall, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire from Monday, 1st July to Friday, 5th July. This is top class golf and free for anyone to come along and watch - better still, come along and support your DevonGolf ladies. 

Matchplays of 3 foursomes and 6 singles daily is played from Monday to Friday, each county meeting another county throughout the week. This is a gruelling commitment from a team of no more than 12 players. There are 2 match points for a win and 1 match point for a draw. Game points are 1 game point for the win, ½ game point for a draw. Match points decide the winning county but, in the event of a tie, game points become the decider.

DevonGolf ladies acquitted themselves magnificently in 2018 at St Enodoc Golf Club in Cornwall, losing to Gloucestershire by just ½ a point. It's our turf this year - game on!

The ladies have been working hard under the tutelage of DevonGolf coach Tiffany Mckenzie, Team Manager Sally Charnock and DevonGolf Lady Captain Anne Norman. Practice weekends have been taking place at Woodbury Park as our ladies are determined to win this year and go forward to the England Golf County Finals at Delamere Forest Golf Club in September.

Not all our DevonGolf team can be at every practice - Caitlin Evans-Brand (Yelverton) is still at university in America but will be rejoining her team mates in good time and Julia Norman (Warren), although not pictured, is an integral part of the group. Amanda Burchell (Bigbury), Abby Turner (Okehampton), Lauren Pearce (Woodbury Park), Grace Jackson (Exeter) Charlotte Dommett and Keeley Clarke (Torquay), Evie Stone (East Devon), Lexi Dart (Churston), Abbie Moyes (Saunton) and Emily Morey (East Devon) make up our DevonGolf ladies' squad.
