DEVONGOLF
DevonGolf Girls played U16s DevonGolf Boys at Tiverton in rather overcast, chilly conditions. As always, this was a closely fought match with both sides determined to overcome the opposition. The Girls made a very strong start with good opening scores and were in a very healthy position at the turn leading in 2 games, all square in another 2 and down in only 1 game. The Boys turned the pressure up for the second half and came home winning in 2 games, losing in 2 games and all square in the last. The match winner was decided on overall total number of holes won and lost which meant the winning team was the Boys by a margin of 5 holes.
None of the juniors makes it through to represent their county without the support of their clubs. Today's players came from clubs across the county - Exeter, Tiverton, Portmore, Fingle Glen, Bigbury, Boringdon Park, East Devon, Torquay and Stover.
On behalf of the winning team, Fred Bishop (Boys' Captain) was presented with the Greenway Trust Trophy by Charlotte Husband (Girls' Captain).
