DEVON GOLF

THE LADIES' TAMAR TROPHY

The Tamar Trophy is played annually between the winners of the scratch Matchplay team competitions of Devon and Cornwall - the Still Cup in Devon and the Gammon Trophy in Cornwall.

The 2018 Still Cup winners for the third year running were Torquay and the ladies travelled down to Cornwall to play Perranporth, the winners of the Gammon Trophy 2018. This was a repeat of last year's final which was played at Torquay.

The day was bright and sunny but very windy, which meant the chilly conditions made the links course extremely challenging. The match was played in the usual friendly but competitive spirit we so often see in ladies' golf. The result went in favour of the home team with a 6-1 win. Special mention must go to Vicky Holloway for her splendid 5-4 win.

Following the match the ladies enjoyed a meal together, taking the opportunity to socialise with old and new friends.

Congratulations to Cornwall and well done to our DevonGolf ladies for representing their county once again.

Torquay back row - 1 Rosie Burnham Caddie, 2  Sharon Birchall - Caddie, 3 Fiona Parsons and  4 Laura Coleman - Players
Torquay players front row - 1 Charlotte Dommett,  2 Keeley Clarke, No 3 Sally Spokes, No 4 Jane Phillipson
