Devon Juniors' U12s Show Real Potential

Back (L-R) Miles Mcmurdo (Exeter), Troy Riley (Torquay), Dan Jones (Bovey Tracey), Josh Murphy (Fingle Glen)
Front (L-R) Noah Mulligan, Ben Wilman

On Sunday, 23rd September, Wheathill Golf Club in Somerset hosted the South West Five Counties U12s Championship. With team and individual prizes to be won, DevonGolf sent their 6 man team to see what they could do.

The clouds cleared and the sun came out for the boys playing 18 hole stroke play, the best 4 gross scores to count for the team score. When you consider if handicaps were anything to go by, Devon should have finished 5th but, thankfully, golf is not played on paper and the boys played really well with some great individual performances to bring the team home in a great 3rd place behind Dorset & Wiltshire. Well done, boys!

Ben Willman (East Devon) & Noah Mulligan (Thurlestone)

But what was really great was Ben Wilman of East Devon winning the Best Nett Trophy with a nett 59 and, taking the big prize of Best Gross and the title of South West U12 Champion was Thurlestone's Noah Mulligan with a fantastic level gross. Fantastic golfing, boys!
