The Exeter Golf & Country Club junior team won the Basil Steer trophy for the 1st time in their history beating East Devon Golf Club 2-1, at the fantastic Bovey Castle to become DevonGolf Junior Champions 2018!
On the day, Exeter's Max Parsons won 6&5, Jack Jeffery 5&3 and Fred Bishop narrowly lost 1 down against a good East Devon team made up of Danny Lewis, Scott Acheson and Max Handford..
The Exeter Junior Organiser Nick Parsons was extremely proud of the team and was delighted to bring the trophy to the club for the first time. He praised both teams who had all played brilliantly throughout the tournament but was delighted that Exeter were able to win the final.
The Basil Steer trophy is much-coveted trophy and competed for by all DevonGolf clubs on an individual matchplay basis. This year there were 20 teams entering the competition which starts in April.
