DEVON GOLF

A BIG WIN FOR THE U14's IN THE JACK ROBERTS TROPHY

With a win and a loss in the first 2 matches against Cornwall & favourites Dorset, it was important to bounce back to have a chance of finishing 2nd at least in the away match against Somerset.

The morning Foursomes was a tight affair with both teams carding a win each. Devon's from the pairing of Alfie Messias & Joe Newcombe, with the other two matches being halved, making it 2-2 at lunch.

The afternoon Singles promised to be another tight battle but the Devon lads really upped their game and, on the front 9, took narrow leads in most matches, but could they convert?

Max Parsons chipped in for birdie on the 18th for a 2 up win. Joe Newcombe, who looked good all day, pressed on for a convincing 6-5 demolition. A Jack Parry half, a good win for Noah Mulligan 4-3 and with Toby White, Alfie Messias and Ollie Amos all bringing home a full point, Devon totally dominated the Singles. DevonGolf's U14s won the match 8½ to 3½.

Well done lads! It was a really good performance from everyone, giving a real chance of finishing in 2nd place at least in the league after our final match against Wiltshire on 30th September at Honiton.
