JOHN HIRST, DEVON GOLF'S MANAGER since 1995, set to retire 31.3.18

RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

After a long and very valued 22 year relationship with Devon County golf, formerly as County Secretary and latterly as Operations Manager and Company Secretary, I can confirm that John will be retiring from his role with effect from 31 March 2018.

John has provided invaluable support and advice to Devon clubs, members of those clubs and the numerous committees and governing bodies along with England Golf (formerly known as the English Golf Union).

The County incorporated in January 2016 and John’s input and support has been greatly appreciated and perhaps fittingly he will be finishing in his role as we look to merge the ladies and men’s sections to form a united Devon Golf.

I have had the pleasure of working with John over the last 6/7 years and I am sure his former and current colleagues will join me in thanking him for his support and wishing him the very best for the future, perhaps somewhere in golf?
