MIKE DUNK RIP

"I’m sure many of you will have already heard of the recent sad passing of Michael (Mike) Dunk. Mike was a past Captain of Downes Crediton GC 1993. He was also a founder member of that club in 1976, but known to many more people throughout the County as Secretary to the Devon Professional Golfers’ Alliance, the “ Alliance”. Hugely respected for his forthright management, always with a slight twinkle in the eye, his humour and total dedication Mike took no prisoners, a true “Legend” in his own lifetime. Unfortunately many of us current Alliance members will be in France playing in an overseas Pro-Am series next week and will be unable to attend."

The funeral service arrangements are :- Crediton Parish Church, Wednesday 18th October at 3pm

"Mike was a most loyal volunteer for the Devon County Golf Union and served on the Executive Committee from 1995 to 1998. Mike was made an Hon. Vice-President in 1998.  His dry humour and "no-nonsense" approach to tasks to be done were well-known. A sad loss indeed to the golfing fraternity in our part of the world!
