WAYMANS WIN PALAIRET CUP

Churston Golf Club were proud and privileged to be given the opportunity to host the Palairet Mixed Trophy yesterday.  A beautiful trophy presented to the Devon County Golf Union in 1933.  This is the first year that a Club Mixed Open has been used to piggy-back a former County Competition and it proved to be a successful move.

After torrential rain on Saturday the course in superb condition and was reasonably soft which made it very favourable to good scoring.   120 players entered the Competition and they enjoyed a blustery but bright day with only a few showers in the afternoon.

The House staff of Churston Golf Club were praised for their provisions of food and a wonderful rolling carvery.
