Paul Vicary (Saunton) achieves high position in English Seniors Tournament

Well done to Paul Vicary on achieving 40th place (out of 288) in this prestigious national seniors tournament, 7-9 June at Saunton. He also finished 2nd in the over 65 category + 11 points in the Devon Seniors Order of Merit.

English Seniors Championship was regarded by England Golf as their best ever with record entries and the lowest ever handicap ballot mark. Only those with 4.5 or lower got in and this was entirely down to the quality of the 2 courses. All competitors agreed that Saunton was a tremendous host and the cream came to the top.

Whilst Devon had 18 entries, most put in a satisfactory performance but only 2, sadly, made the cut.  Paul and Richard Armitage (Teignmouth).
