Juniors v Cornwall results

U14s and the U16s travelled to Trethorne GC on Sunday 21 May to take on Cornwall in the Jack Roberts & Ben Enoch leagues.

The U14s were taking on an evenly matched Cornwall side, so we were looking to come out of the morning foursomes a/s considering we're playing away, and we were looking good after Fred Bishop & Lewis Ross had brought home a point with a 2&1 win, and David Baldwin & Alfie Messias were coming up the last 1up, but Cornwall nailed the 18th to gain a half and go into lunch with a slender lead.
The afternoon singles saw the first 3 matches shared with a win for Max Parsons, a half for Lewis Ross and a Loss for Fred Bishop, so Cornwall still had the edge.

But that's where Cornwall's fun stopped....Jack Dart was his usual self, winning 3&2, David Baldwin who had been 4 down on the front 9 showed some great fighting spirit by coming back and winning 1 up, Harry Edworthy gained a half, with 2&1 victories for both Alfie Messias & Toby White saw the Devon lads sail home 7.5 to 4.5 winners. Well done boys!

The U16s had a tougher day against a pretty strong Cornwall side, Lewis Beer & Matt Millar gained Devon a point in the morning foursomes, and Lewis brought home another point in the singles along with a very strong 6&4 win for Haydon McCance.
