NEW DEVON GOLF CHAIRMAN APPOINTED

Devon Golf Limited's new Chairman is Nick James (Teignmouth). 

The Board of Directors is most pleased to announce the appointment of Nick James as the new Devon Golf Limited Chairman after Simon Bawden had stood down at the AGM on 15 March.

By way of background, Nick was a member at Saunton from 1998 to 2006. He has been a member at Oake Manor in Taunton from 1993 to 1998, being Treasurer from 1994 to 1996 and Captain from 1996 to 1997.

Previously when working for HSBC, he was Secretary of their Golf Association from 2002 to 2006 (and won the Bank Championships at Ganton in 2004!). Also Secretary and President of the local HSBC Golf Society for circa 10 years.

Nick joined Teignmouth GC in 2006 and has been a Board member since 2012.  He has just finished his term as Club Captain. He has been a member of the County's Executive Committee/Board of Directors for 7 years.

We all wish Nick well in his new position and will support him in his endeavours. He emphasised that he is very much looking forward to contributing to the merger of Devon County Men & Devon County Ladies planned for 2018.

Nick is currently the Practice Manager of Kitsons Solicitors in Torquay.
