All appeared to be going to plan for the Seniors Team as far as the Seniors Channel League with two resounding wins from the first two matches. Unfortunately the game is Golf and there was nothing to suggest the forthcoming defeat by Wiltshire.

The morning 9 hole fourballs were evenly contested with one match finishing on the penultimate hole and the others finishing on the last. Devon unfortunately only finishing with one win and one match halved.

The afternoon singles proved decisive. The Devon team players getting off to a poor start and by the tenth tee were trailing in seven matches and level in the remaining three. Despite some significant recoveries, this trend continued throughout the back nine resulting in just one win from Tim Aggett and a half from Paul Vicary.

There are times when recognition must be given to the better players on the day and this was one such day. The Devon Team played well, but the Wiltshire Team played better.
